I actually went out of the house looking like this - black fingerless gloves, tons of necklaces, hair teased & sprayed glitter-pink with a big black lace bow. I love the 80's. Posted by Picasa

I'm so ticked. I had rehearsal at the exact same time! You guys better have another one next month.

I wish you were there, Julia. Sally and I were the only ones who dressed up!

So funny, She. I think this is what you looked like when I first met you. Don't deny it. You know you had that Cyndi Lauper thing going on for quite a while!

Ok, maybe not totally Cyndi--somewhere between Cyndi and the Molly Ringwald character in Pretty in Pink.

I'm not seeing any sign of your crimping iron here. Don't tell me you finally parted with that one.

Yes, I fully admit that I was quite the Cyndi Lauper type when we met - and deep down inside, I always will be, which is why I will always jump at the chance to pull out my old stuff and get my 80s groove on. But sadly, no, I never owned a crimping iron. It's all natural, and a straight comb and lots and lots of hair spray.

The funny part of the evening was when Jessica (pictured above with Sally) asked me where I'd found my earrings. "From the 80s. I used to wear these. To high school. In the 80s." I don't know if she knew I was THAT OLD.

That's funny about the earrings. I had the same experience with high schoolers this summer, when we had an 80's night at summer camp.

I thought for sure I remembered you using a crimping iron on occasion. Did someone else in the dorm have one that you borrowed, or am I thinking of someone else?

The Cyndi look always did work for you. I think every person finds one period of fasion that stays lodged deep within. The 80's is yours forever.

You are like a totally rockin', bangle-wearin', mall-hair-sportin' val!!! Totally gnarly, dude! ;)

P.S. I always screw up the WV too. At least once or twice a session.
